We have had another busy month here at Grace Dieu Manor Park Nursery and Charles Booth Pre-School.
Our bug topic continues with stick insects. The children have enjoyed watching them and learning about the things that they eat, how big they would get and how to look after them.
We have made the most of the sunny weather and enjoyed lots of time outdoors with water play, outdoor painting, bikes, cars, construction toys and the children have continued to look for bugs outside.
Our Upper Pre School children are continuing with swimming lessons and are practising jumping off big floats and blowing bubbles in the water. This is to help with their breathing techniques.
The African Ark workshop recently visited our preschool, offering the children a wonderful opportunity to experience African culture firsthand. The workshop was filled with vibrant activities that included creating colourful artwork inspired by African traditions and engaging in energetic dance sessions. The children were thrilled to learn new dance moves and explore their creativity through art, all whilst gaining a deeper appreciation for the richness and diversity of African culture. This interactive experience not only entertained but also educated the young learners, making it a memorable and enriching event for everyone involved.
But to round up the May fun, we also welcomed Chip and Chase to the family!
They’re currently joining us on a short holiday from the lovely team at New Cottage Poultry in Swannington. We are learning all about the life cycle of a chick and observing the transformation from egg to chick. This activity fosters a sense of wonder and curiosity, encouraging children to ask questions and seek knowledge about the natural world. This hands-on learning experience enhances their comprehension of concepts like growth, change and the necessities for life.
