We had a very busy November here at Grace Dieu Manor Park Nursery and Charles Booth Pre-School.
We started off the month celebrating Bonfire Night.
The babies and toddlers enjoyed getting messy with paint and painting fireworks using their hands. We celebrated Diwali and Remembrance Sunday. Our upper pre-school children learnt about Diwali and Mrs Baghra told them the story of Rama and Sita. They were able to make beautiful Diwa lamps to celebrate the festival of light. We spoke about Remembrance Day and why we display the poppy. We got crafty and made a large class poppy as well as making some yummy, edible poppies. The babies and toddlers also had the opportunity to do some painting for Diwali and Remembrance Sunday.
The following week was Children in Need, which is always something we love to make a fuss about. In the toddler room we were exploring Pudsey Bear. We made our own big Pudsey Bear as well as making smaller bears from salt dough. They loved using the paints and their fingers to decorate them. On the Friday, the children wore their pyjamas and Pudsey t-shirts and made teddy bear biscuits.
With Christmas just around the corner, preparations for nativity for upper pre-school are underway. Since discussing the story of Nativity and Baby Jesus, the children have been talking about babies and playing with our dolls.
We are excited to see what December brings!
